About Sydney

I have been passionate about treating chronic pain symptoms for years now. It is my belief that treating the whole person is imperative towards symptom reduction and increasing functional activity. ‘Chasing’ pain and relying on passive treatments does not provide lasting symptom relief. My approach is not for everyone, it requires active participation and an open mind to learn how pain works in the body and how we can change it. Treatments rely heavily on the principles of neuroplasticity, corrective movement/exercise, pain neuroscience, somatic rehab techniques, pacing, manual therapy, and nervous system-based movement strategies to name a few. My goal is to always meet you where you are at and progress you forward when your body is ready for the next step.
I started my own practice because it allows me to spend the necessary one on one time with a client without the time restrictions and limitations that are found in a traditional healthcare setting. It is easier to build rapport and trust when we are not rushed through a visit. Persistent pain symptoms are complex processes that needs to address the physical body but also have an understanding of how mental and emotional states can affect physical pain.
Prior to becoming a physical therapist I was a collegiate volleyball coach and a massage therapist. Helping people to heal and teaching are at the core of what I do. I create structure, guidance, and awareness on how you can start decreasing your pain.
My undergraduate degree is from the University of Oregon and my MA in Kinesiology is from Saint Mary’s College of California. I received my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from University of California of San Francisco/San Francisco State University.
